LONG GRAIN SUPER SELLA (PAR BOILED)

Parboiled rice is soaked, steamed, and dried in its husk after harvest but before milling. The process turns the rice light yellow rather than white.

Cooking Method:

1 cup Mehran Sella rice

2 cups of water

1 tablespoon oil

1 pinch of salt or as per taste

Soak the rice in water for about 90 – 120 minutes

Rinse measured rice 1 – 2 times

Place drained rice into a saucepan and add measured water, oil, and salt. Place saucepan uncovered over high heat and bring to boil, stir occasionally.

Let water reduce slightly below the rice level and then lower the heat. Place a tight lid on the saucepan and simmer for 5 – 6 minutes.
